Basic Refrigerator Pickle Brine
Mix and bring to a boil:
- 2 cups vinegar
- 2 cups water
- Scant 1 cup sugar
- 1 Tb sea salt
- 1 dried red pepper (optional)
Let cool in pot until room temperature.
Pour over prepared veggies.
Once completely cool, pack in a glass jar.
Don’t use your fingers to remove refrigerator pickles!
Stores for weeks and even longer, in the fridge
