What to Drink?

- We don't include juice in the budget..Juice is like dessert. It’s always better to eat the fruit rather than buying an expensive bottle of fruit flavoring and sugar. That only makes your body work overtime to metabolize all that refined sugar. When you eat fruit the fiber slows the metabolism of the sugars.
- Health reasons abound for not drinking pop. It's a treat. Treat it like a treat.
- A family of 4 can save more than $500/year by choosing NOT to drink juice and bottled pop.
- Water is better for your body. You’ll feel better too.
- If you’re feeling sleepy around 4PM chances are you’re in need of hydration!
- Keep track of how much water you’re really drinking every day. Be honest. Most people don't drink enough to stay healthy.
- Using a reusable water bottle helps you pay attention to how much you’ve had each day.
- We like to flavor our water with a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime for a treat! After a couple of weeks of staying off sugary drinks you will become more sensitive (and appreciative) of real flavors.
If you live in an area with bad public water, buy your drinking water in big, 2-5 gallon containers and refill your own small water bottle instead of buying all the throw away bottles.
- It really cuts down on plastic waste
- Helps you keep track of your water intake.
- Stops the water companies from getting rich off the plastic you throw away
- The privatization of water is a serious issue in our country. Do what you can to keep water public.
