NaNa's Special K bars

 Make in a 9x13 pan

In a large pot, bring to a boil:

  • 1 cup light Karo syrup
  • 1 cup sugar

Lower the heat and stir in:

  • 7 cups Special K cereal
  • 1 ½  cups of peanut butter

 Press into a 9 X 13 inch pan. 

Topping:

  • Gently melt 2 Tb butter on low heat

Once it has melted add:

  • 8 oz. choc. chips
  • 8 oz butterscotch chips

Remove from the heat as soon as the chips have melted and pour over the cereal mixture in the 9 x 13 pan.

Let it cool about 30 min.

Cut into squares in the pan before the topping has completely set so you don’t crack the chocolate/butterscotch topping.

Try to resist snarfing the whole pan in one sitting.
