This works great with steamed cabbage or cold lettuce leaves too.
Lettuce or Collard Wraps with
Ginger Sauce
Whisk together:
- 1/3 c rice wine vinegar
- 1/3 c soy sauce or tamari (when scaling up this recipe, don't scale the soy or tamari sauce relatively. Start with 1/3 C and add to taste.)
- 1/3 c light neutral oil
- 1/3 c sesame oil
- 3 Tb honey
- 2-3 Tb freshly grated ginger
- 1 clove minced garlic
You can serve this lovely sauce over grilled meats, fish, cooked grains or veggies.
Today we’ll use it to spice up a collard wrap stuffed with:
- sautéed cabbage
- carrots
- onion
- peppers and
- brown Basmati rice.
Steam the collard leaves thoroughly before using them like a wrap.(Remove the stem before steaming)
Set the table with a bowl of stuffing, a pitcher of ginger sauce and stack of leaves and let everyone roll their own.
