Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes – 5, finely chopped.
  • onion – 1/4 ,finely chopped
  • Green chillie – 2
  • Cilantro – 1 tbsp., finely chopped.
  • Fresh/ frozen coconut – 2 tsp.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Oil – 1tbsp.
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp.
  • sugar – 1tsp (optional)

Method

  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan to medium, add onion and sauté till transparent,
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until all the moisture is absorbed.
  • Allow the above mixture to cool, grind with grated coconut, cilantro and chilies.
  • Heat the remaining oil to medium, add mustard seeds, let it crackle.
  • Add the ground tomato mixture, sugar and salt.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.

Serve with Dosa
